She has performed and recorded with chamber orchestras and chamber music ensembles, touring throughout Europe, South Asia, Australia, and South America, including groups such as Musica Antiqua Köln, Concerto Köln, Accademia Bizantina (Ravenna, Italy), Freiburg Baroque Orchestra, Akademie für alte Musik Berlin, Concentus Musicus (Vienna), Anima Eterna (Brugge), and Stuttgart Baroque Orchestra. While living in Italy, she also performed and recorded Medieval and Renaissance music with Ensemble Dramsam (Gorizia-Udine) and Sarband (Munich), playing shawms, recorders and dulcian. Since returning to live in the U.S. in 2000, she has concentrated on a side career as a software engineer. She lives in southern New Hampshire and comes to the Boston area to play with Newton Baroque and has performed with Boston Baroque, Oriana Consort, Boston Cecilia, and the Harvard University Baroque Orchestra.
Elizabeth Hardy is a regular both on stage and behind the scenes of Boston early music. She has served as performer and organizer with Helios Early Opera, Grand Harmonie, 7 Hills Renaissance Wind Band, and the Society for Historically Informed Performance, and was a founding member of 17th-century mixed consort The Weckmann Project. She is principal bassoon of the Austin Baroque Orchestra, and has appeared with the Handel & Haydn Society, Ashmont Bach Project, Newton Baroque, New York State Baroque, the Salon/Sanctuary Orchestra, the Atlanta Baroque Orchestra, and Ensemble Caprice. Elizabeth also spent a season in New York playing reeds and recorders for Shakespeare on Broadway, the Globe Theatre's Tony-winning, historically-informed productions of Twelfth Night and Richard III. She holds a Master's degree in Early Bassoons from Indiana University's Early Music Institute, where she studied with Michael McCraw, and a Bachelor's degree from Oberlin Conservatory.
Praised for his musicality and virtuosity, Allen Hamrick enjoys a varied career as a period bassoonist and recorder player. He has performed with the Boston Early Music Festival for their recent production of Orlando Generoso by Agostino Steffani; he has performed with Boston Baroque and The Handel and Haydn Society; and he has performed for Bach festivals in Toronto and Charlotte, North Carolina. Having participated in the inaugural Teatro Nuovo Bel Canto festival in 2018, Allen made a return appearance last summer performing La Straniera by Bellini and La Gazza Ladra by Rossini. He frequently performs with La Fiocco and has made many appearances with Grand Harmonie and other groups across the country. Allen holds music degrees from Indiana University, University of North Carolina School of the Arts, and The Juilliard School, where he toured nationally and internationally with Juilliard415 under the direction of renowned directors William Christie, Masaaki Suzuki, and Jordi Savall.
